Chibi Site Re-design (almost) Ready

In preparation for the re-launch of Chibi (still tentatively planned for September), I’m finishing up the re-design of the site. I’ll post the link here for you guys to test it out (and break it). If you check it out, please let me know what works (and doesn’t), as well as what you like (or don’t).

Thanks!

UPDATE: Whoops, forgot to post the link. You can check out the new version of the site here. It’ll officially go live on September 16th, when story starts back up.

Holding Pattern

I wish that there was something to blog about, but right now I’m in a bit of a holding pattern.

The plan at the moment is to re-launch Chibi Cheerleaders by (at the earliest) August or (more likely) September. In the meantime, I’m trying to wrap up loose ends with other projects — mostly some web design work (helps to pay the bills :). I want to try and have as clear a plate as possible so that all I’ll need to focus on is the comic (then again, what’s the old saying about “best laid plans?”).

I’ve been inking some of the old pages, and I’m planning on releasing them on the site hopefully by time you start seeing new pages. If they aren’t all done by time everything goes live, then at least I’ll update them a chapter at a time.

Oh, and for those that have been wondering why the UStream feed’s been blank…there hasn’t been much of anything to show you at the moment. I mean, unless you want to watch me code web pages. ‘Cause I know how fun that can be. 🙂 But, keep an eye on the Twitter feed. I’ll post when I’m about to start showing the feed (or just show up, and you’ll see it here on the site anyway).

Glitch

We had a small glitch this morning. Apparently, the pnhcomics.com domain name had expired without my knowledge (and w/o any warning!). So, those of you that wanted to check out the site this morning might have been a bit confused why the site had upped and disappeared.

No worries. I got the domain issue resolved (as you can probably tell), and the site is back up and running.

For those that missed the whole thing — you didn’t miss much. 🙂

UStream

I’m toying around with some tech…specifically the site uStream.tv. The idea is that it allows you to have your own little YouTube-quality video stream from your webcam or whatever.

Now, while I’m sure there’d be people that’d love a video of my ugly mug staring at them, I’m thinking of using it for something else — specifically, broadcasting what I’m drawing. It could be a request for a doodle for warming up..or a live stream of the latest page I’m working on. In any case I thought I’d try it out and see what people thought of it. I doubt it’ll be all that exciting, but hey…it’s there if you’re bored. 🙂

Here’s the link.

Update: Just removed the UStream objects from this site. You can still check it out if you’re bored using the above link. I’ll post when it’ll be active on the Twitter feed.

David Pirkola

The Grand Rapids Press reported on April 27th that David Pirkola, a comics owner/operator in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was robbed at gunpoint at his store and then shot by his assailant. He’s currently in stable but critical condition.

To help out on his medical bills (as well as keep his store afloat), the guys over at iFanboy have set up a fund where you can donate however much you want. I went and donated a bit of cash, and I hope you can too.
